HLT21020 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response

An entry level qualification for personnel who provide a first response to medical emergencies in a workplace or community setting.

Course Overview

This qualification prepares learners to respond to a medical emergency as a first responder, including scene assessment, basic life support and first aid, communication with emergency services, and handover to higher level care. It is suited to site personnel, volunteers, and those commencing a career in pre-hospital care.

Entry Requirements
  • Minimum age to be confirmed by ESG
  • Physical capability to perform CPR on the floor and move equipment
  • Language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills sufficient to complete the assessment tasks. ESG conducts an LLND check before enrolment and can arrange support or reasonable adjustment.
  • A Unique Student Identifier (USI)
